My name is Inke Heiland and I'm an artist/designer living in the Netherlands. I graduated in 2002 at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam (CV)

Wallpaper Wildlife (behangbeesten) was at first just an idea for my son's bedroom. I was so satisfied with the result that I presented the silhouettes in 2004 On "Rietveld naar de beurs", an exposition/sales event for new design which is held once a year in Amsterdam. After lots of positive reactions I decided to expand the collection with the wallpaper furniture and wallpaper trees. All of which you can see and order via this website.

The silhouettes are made from real vintage and designers wallpaper. Due to the age of the paper and the traditional printing techniques irregularities may occur. This is part of the appeal of the product!

The silhouettes are all hand crafted in our own workshop, or at the sheltered workshop DZB in our home town Leiden. We take as much care as possible cutting your silhouette, but errors may occur. In case of production errors, you can exchange the article for free.

Each pattern is available in limited quantities only They are sent out as a "do it yourself kit" complete with glue, a brush and instructions.

Frequently asked questions:

On Picture X, there is a silhouette in a pattern I can’t find in the orderform. Can I still order that pattern?
We frequently use old wallpapers from the 60’s 70’s for the silhouettes. Therefore some patterns are very scarce and could be out of stock. If you cannot find the pattern in the orderform, the pattern is unfortunately out of stock.

Can I buy a whole roll of wallpaper X?
The wallpapers are not sold separately, because of the limited availability.

On which surfaces can the silhouettes be applied?
Each silhouette contains special adhesive. Please consult the manufacturer’s specifications.

Can I order the leaves of the tree separately?
Unfortunately that is not possible. In some cases however we make an exeption (if you have already ordered a tree, for instance).

How can I make a payment?
Payments are possible via (international) bank transfer or PayPal (PayPal transactions are subjected to a 3% transaction fee). See your order confirmation for all payment information.

I live in COUNTRY X, can I still place an order?
Yes, we ship to virtually all countries. Shipping costs are specified in your order confirmation. Australian and New Zealand customers beware: please consult one of the stores due to the extremely high shipping costs to your region.

I have received a silhouette, but the pattern differs a lot from what I saw on your website.
Due to variations in monitor color settings, there can be differences with the actual article. If you are definetely NOT satisfied with the colors, you can exchange the article for a different one at shipping costs. BE ADVISED: We can only accept undamaged and unopened articles!! The wallpaper on the outside of the tube is the paper that is used for the silhouette. If you have opened the inner package nevertheless, we cannot accept the article in exchange and will charge you for making the replacement silhouette.

I have received a silhouette, but it is damaged!
Damaged goods will be substituted without costs.
